David Powel, founder of Davey Makes, is a textile artist based in Whitley Bay. His vibrant wall art is inspired by the bold colours and playful lettering of fairground signage, reimagined through textiles to create striking and joyful pieces. He has made this collection of beautiful patchwork tote bags exclusively for April 11 and we are excited that in the New Year he is joining us for two quilted tote workshops. Over the 4-5 hour session Davey will guide you step-by-step through the whole process and show you how to design and make your very own quilted tote bag, unique to you.
When booking please let us know if you have your own sewing machine (we can provide some for those without but will need to know in advance). All other tools and fabric will be provided.
There are two dates available with up to 10 spaces on each.
The classes start at 10am and will last approximately 4-5 hours. Light refreshments included
